The collection features thirty-three flash fictions, including many new and previously unpublished pieces, and explores the unevenness and incomprehension and ultimate delivery of an emotion that permeates us all.

About the author
Catherine McNamara grew up in Sydney, ran away to Paris to write, and ended up in West Africa running a bar. She was an embassy secretary in pre-war Mogadishu, and has worked as an au pair, graphic designer, translator, and shoe model. Praised by Hilary Mantel, her collection The Cartography of Others (Unbound May 2018) is currently listed in the Summer Selection of the People’s Book Prize (UK) and won Grand Prize in the inaugural Eyelands International Book Awards 2018 (Greece), and was on the Literary Sofa’s Best of 2018 Reads. Her book Pelt and Other Stories was long-listed for the Frank O’Connor Award and a semi-finalist in the Hudson Prize. Her work has been Pushcart-nominated and published in the UK, Europe, USA, and Australia. Catherine lives in Italy.
